O anime conta a história de 3 alunos e suas armas, que estudam em uma escola fictícia chamada Shibusen, localizada no estado americano de Nevada, criada para eliminar os Ovos de Kishins, que são seres que usam a alma de humanos (em geral devorando-as) para se tornarem mais poderosos, e as bruxas que vivem aterrorizando o mundo.

Maka Albarn é uma artesã de foices parceira de Soul Evans. Maka é muito inteligente e aplicada. Ela não se da bem com seu pai, apesar de ele fazer tudo por ela. Maka e seu pai não se dão bem porque ele traiu a mãe dela, isso é um dos motivos por Maka não confiar muito em homens.

Maka Albarn is a partner of artisan scythes Soul Evans. Maka is very intelligent and applied. She's not well with his father, though he do anything for her. Maka and her father do not get along because he cheated on her mother, this is one reason why Maka do not rely much on men.

Arma de Maka, junto de Maka ele é capaz de usar o Caçador de Bruxas(Majogari), técnica lendária dos usuários da Foice. Após ser infectado pelo sangue negro, eles entram em um estado de loucura quando fazem a Ressonância da Alma(Tamashi no Kyoumei). Em sua família, ele é a única arma.

Liz e Patty

Elisabeth Thompson e Patricia Thompson são armas de Death the Kid, enquanto na forma de pistolas, são perfeitamente simétricas, mas ao se tornarem humanas, se tornam totalmente diferentes e isso irrita Kid. Liz 
tem um carater tolerante,pois é capaz de aguentar e ajudar Kid,  já Patty age como uma criança.
Elisabeth Thompson and Patricia Thompson are weapons of Death the Kid, while in the form of guns, they are perfectly symmetrical, but when they become human, become totally different and it pisses Kid. Liz has a tolerant character, because it is able to endure Kid and Patty acts like a child.

 Artesão de Tsubaki, ele quase nunca consegue pegar almas em suas missões e é sempre o centro das atenções. Ele tem como objetivo superar deus e é um dos homens mais fortes da Shibusen.

Tsubaki é a arma de Black ☆ Star. Ela tem a habilidade especial de se transformar em varias armas (Kusarigama, Shuriken, Bomba de fumaça, Katana e a Lâmina  Demoníaca). Tsubaki é calma e gentil, por isso é a parceira perfeita de  Black ☆ Star.
Tsubaki is the weapon of Black ☆ Star. She has the special ability to transform into various weapons (Kusarigama, Shuriken, Smoke Bomb, and the Katana Demon Blade). Tsubaki is calm and gentle, so it is the perfect partner to Black ☆ Star.

 A criança de Medusa Gorgon, Crona é um demônio artesão cuja arma, Ragnarok, reside permanentemente dentro de seu sangue. Crona foi a primeira tentativa de Medusa em criar um Kishin, mas em vez de se transformar em um deus demônio, Crona acabou por fazer amizade com Maka Albarn e passou a ajudar a Shibusen a derrotar Medusa e, em última instância, o Kishin.

The child of Medusa Gorgon, Crona is a Demon Sword Master whose weapon, Ragnarok, resides permanently within their blood. Crona was Medusa's first attempt at creating a Kishin, but instead of turning into a Demon god, Crona instead turned to help Shibusen defeat Medusa and, ultimately, the Kishin.

É o diretor e fundador da Shibusen, e pai de Death the Kid. Quando ele derrotou o Kishin Asura, selou-o num porão embaixo da Shibusen, assim, prendendo sua alma á Death City, ou seja, não conseguindo sair da cidade, a não ser que a cidade criasse pernas.
